Buchla & Tiptop Audio Long sequence with a sequential switch feat. Model 207t and doppfer A151

video upload by Flat Round Modular Music

"How to extend a short sequence up to twenty steps with a sequential switch and how to randomize it with Source of uncertainty.

Patch notes and a surprise sample from 1010 Music. Bitbox Mk II

Have a look."

3 increasingly weird ways to program a TR-606 module (but keep it satisfying)

video upload by mylarmelodies

"This is a blend of: A 606 clone eurorack module demo (the LPZW/Tubbutec 6m0d6), and a tutorial - laced with tips and tricks - exploring three increasingly weird ways to trigger and modulate (drum) modules in general - using Gate & CV, Trigger Riot, and sneaky tricks in Ableton Live & MIDI. The overall theme is: Keeping the results 'musical' and satisfying.

We'll also make a generative sequencer with the Mutable instruments stages and use it to control the excellent Doepfer A-111-6. We'll drive it with the Music Thing Mini Drive. We'll turn the Tiptop Audio Trigger Riot into a modulation sequencer. We'll then use Ableton Live and we'll absolutely smash this thing to bits with some simple but very interesting methods to get completely wild patterns, that would take a LOT of modules to do in analog-land.

Happy days."

Buchla/TipTop Audio with Larix-Elektro modules.

video upload by LARIX ELEKTRO

"A new video demonstrating how to use RITOURNELLE modules with other modules.
Here with the Sequencial Voltage Source 245t and the Source of Uncertainity 266t from Buchla/TipTop Audio.

How to combine the 245t and the ritournelles, both are made for sequencing.
How to use the 266t to add randomness, in various way.

Of course, Buchla/TipTop Audio modules are used for the audio part:
The 258t with the 292t.

Tiptop Audio Officially Releases ART Line of Eurorack Modules

via Tiptop Audio

"Today, we are celebrating the release of the first set of ART-equipped modules, marking the first time this technology is ready for purchase. We are starting with the release of the ATX1 Analog VCO, Vortex Digital OSC, Octopus USB/MIDI interface, ART V/OCT Quantizer, and Control Path dual analog envelopes plus VCA.

On our website, we have dedicated the ART landing page as the knowledge base HQ for ART. There, you will find plenty of educational videos, module video manuals, and uploaded video playlists of music filmed during beta testing. ART is simple to use and easy to understand, and with those videos, we made sure all aspects and potential misinformation have been addressed. Additionally, more information is in the process of being added in the coming days for both DIY enthusiasts and module makers on how to implement ART, including a free reference design that adds ART to Mutable Instruments Braids and Plaits.

The creative process of making music on a modular synthesizer is a unique tactile and aural experience. With ART modules, we are entering the territory of tunable instruments and polyphonic multi-timbral compositions but with the sound design power and immediate interface of a modular synthesizer. The initial release focuses on the mono VCOs that you can use to build voices quickly or combine for discrete polyphony. Very soon, we will extend the lineup with the fully polyphonic ART modules and the release of the Polytip patch cable."

ATX1

A classic all analog saw VCO core with 3 switchable modes, ART, 1V/Oct, LFO and is recommended as the basic building block for ART systems. It is designed for patching analog polyphonic synths from discrete modules or multi-mono patches in ART mode. When using ART the ATX1 takes care of the tuning including accounting for temperature changes. In 1V/Oct mode the ATX1 runs as a standard old school modular VCO. LFO mode drops the frequency range and is great for patching vibrato to other ATX1s among other things. The ATX1 outputs variable waveshapes with manual or CV control. Classic FM, PWM and hard sync are provided. A dedicated Gate Out in ART mode manages the voice envelopes or any modulation synced to that voice. We consider the ATX1 the best sounding analog VCO we ever created.

TipTop Audio ART Modules

video upload by Luca Longobardi

"Last series of tests before the imminent commercial release of the Tiptop Audio ART modules.
In this session, of which I recorded a small jam, I configured the system so as to have a good comparison on polyphony tracking.

One of the two ATX1 analog oscillators (bass line) is managed via CV through the ART V/Oct Quantizer, the other analog oscillator and the digital one (Vortex) are instead managed via Midi, all via the Korg Sq-64.
The Roland S-1 is routed in the Morphagene, the Just Friends uses the Mutable Instruments Ripples Resonance to ping it on the melody line entrusted to the digital oscillator and the Pladask Elektrisk Dradd adds some glitchy vibes via its Tape function. TX-6 for delay."

Tiptop Audio Updates

via Tiptop Audio

"Hello everyone,
We are starting off 2024 by releasing the Model 207t mixer/Preamplifier today. It is now available for pre-orders at our dealers for $245. The 207t mixes the 200t system signals and as your system grows so can the mixer using the stereo expansion inputs to cascade several 207t’s. The monitor and program switches allow for various routing tricks, and the pre-amplifier is where external signals like Microphones, Guitars and line level synths can enter the 200t environment for further processing. The preamp matches levels with the 296t for classic Vocoder patches.

The 207t user manual is now online here.

The 200t project is now entering its 3rd year and there is still a lot more coming. Thanks to your support we are able to bring more of Don’s 200 modules back into existence.

Also, special thanks to Todd Barton for his involvement and all the people out there who makes fantastic demo videos and posts that helps explain the modules and their interactions in the 200 system. [you can find some of Todd's here]

Later on in February, after the NAMM show dust settles down, we are planning to officially release the first set of our ART modules [pic below]. After several years of beta testing we believe it is ready for everyone to start enjoy this new modular synth technology. Recently, we have added power consumption figures to the modules page and soon User Manuals will start appearing. Stay tuned for more ART info."
